Terms of service
The rules for using eikoro and the files it exports.
The short version: eikoro helps you prepare a photo to published specifications. It is an independent tool, not a government service, and it cannot guarantee that an authority will accept a photo. Use it lawfully and check the current requirements before you apply.
eikoro — last updated 23 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and eikoro ("we", "us") for the use of the eikoro website and browser tool (the "Service"). By using the Service or buying Pro, you agree to these terms.
What eikoro is
eikoro is a browser-based photo formatting tool that helps you crop a photo to the dimensions commonly requested for passports, visas and ID photos, check basic requirements (such as face position, background and lighting), and export a print-ready image or print sheet.
eikoro is not a government service, a passport agency, an embassy, a visa service, a photographer or a legal advisor. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government, embassy or passport authority.
No guarantee of acceptance
We cannot and do not guarantee that any passport office, embassy, visa centre, airline or other authority will accept a photo made with eikoro. Requirements differ by country, change over time, and are ultimately decided by the issuing authority. You are responsible for checking the current requirements of the authority you are applying to and for the final photo you submit. Always review the photo before you print or submit it.
Using the editor (free)
You may use the free editor for personal, non-commercial purposes. The free version lets you edit and preview photos and download a watermarked preview. Processing happens in your browser; we do not receive your photo.
Pro license
When you buy Pro, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Pro features (300 DPI export, print sheets, all country specifications, no watermark) on devices you own or control, for as long as we operate the Service. The license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent, share or publish your license key, or use it to provide a paid service to others;
- copy, redistribute or make the Pro export features available to third parties;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the Service (except where such restriction is prohibited by law);
- remove or obscure notices in the exported files or the Service.
We may suspend a license key that is shared, abused or used to violate these terms. If we do, we will first try to contact you.
Price and payment
Pro is a one-time purchase at the price shown on the site at checkout (currently US$4.99, list price US$6.99). Prices are in US dollars. Your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees.
Checkout is provided by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. Creem is the legal seller for the transaction and handles payment processing, receipts/invoices, refunds and applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. Creem's Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase. We never receive your card details.
Delivery
After a successful payment, Creem creates a license key and shows it on the payment confirmation page and in your receipt email. You can also retrieve it from Creem's customer portal linked in the receipt. Enter the key in eikoro to unlock Pro on that browser. Keep your key safe — it is the proof of purchase. Contact us if you lose it and can provide the order email.
Refunds
See our Refund Policy. In short: if Pro does not work for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will arrange a refund through Creem.
Privacy
See our Privacy Policy. Your photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us.
Availability and changes
We may change, improve or discontinue features, and may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will update the date above. We try to keep the Service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service depends on your browser and device; very old browsers may not be supported.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that a photo will meet any government's or authority's requirements. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, data, or the cost of a rejected application, trip or visa. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for fraud).
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — most issues are easy to fix by email.
